every night, i open the door. i know it won't happen, but i still wish. every morning, i wake up. i definitely know that's not happening yet, but i still wish. i check my voicemail, my texts, and make my daily calls, and i wish. but that's not where it's at, so instead i have to redirect myself. instead of wishing, instead of hopelessly hoping, i'll be thankful. thankful for the thought, thankful for the longing, thankful for the meaning it's given, and the life it has become. thank you. i miss you.

Long Night in Chicago...
there's something to be said about the manner in which one handles life. personally, i don't think i've got all of the answers by any means. but, i have always been happy with the way that i have handled my own life. unfortunately, not everyone handles themselves in the exact same way. on many levels, this poses no problem as my life is mine and no one else's, etc. but when you run into a situation in one person's life and your own collides with one another, there's an inevitable force to choose one method over the other. it's too bad when it always falls to one side of the fence. so what do you do?

quick update...
ok. well guys, the music i've been listening to lately is a lot different than what i usually post on here. so this will be a mixed post. some of the usual stuff, some probably quite unexpected. some old. some new. so, buckle up. it's gonna be a bumpy ride.
let's begin with some hans zimmer and a really beautiful score called "Now We Are Free." you can find this on the gladiator soundtrack. which, if you don't already have it, the gladiator soundtrack is amazing. so, here you are. the brilliant hans zimmer.
this next one is by a guy called paolo conte. the video is in italian, so if you can speak spanish or italian you can probably pick it up. it's a good clip. all i'm going to say is i did not even know legos were capable of such great things...
ok, now before you get your panties in a bunch, just be patient. this next song is by coldplay. but, this is a song that is very uncoldplay. i wish more people knew this song. i wish they would put this song out there harder. it's a fantastic song. it is worth listening to all the way through. and, as simplistic as it is, that should tell you pay attention to the words.
ok i couldn't find an official video for this next one but i love it so i posted the one i found. this is a song called fresh feeling by the eels. it's brilliant. i hope you enjoy. great lyrics. brilliant music. this is what it's all about.
ok, now this next one, i apologize for. there are NO videos except this small excerpt of this song. but i STRONGLY recommend you go check it out on iTunes, because it is soooo worth it. i swear the weepies are the most talented act out there right now. if anyone knows they're coming round, let me know. i'll be front row center. song is called riga girls.
ok i think that's all i care to post tonight for the videos.
as for me, lately life is changing slowly again. i have become extremely busy with my new job at noodles & co. for the second time. for those of you who don't know, i used to work at the one in kenosha. now i work at the one on michigan avenue. so, with two jobs, school, music, blogs, and going out, i'm keeping pretty damn busy now. thank God. still, i can't say i wish some things were different. but i won't go there. instead, i'll just say thank God that i have what i have. i am happy to say that lately, i have been getting back to God. the hardest part is just to keep it constant. anyways, i hope everyone is happy and well. watch out for the flu that seems to be kicking ass in the midwest.

France!!!?? Hot Damn!!!
okay. so, this is by far going to be my favorite post up to this point. you'll see why momentarily.
let's take a trip to france shall we? okay.
so here we are. it's nice out. let's hang out with a good friend of mine named jason mraz. he's brilliant in these clips. i could not pick one or the other to play because i like the idea behind the first one, but i love the message of the second. both are worth your time. take your time and watch them all the way through. you won't be disappointed.
it's gonna be a lovely day.
live high.
amazing. now let's take a look at a band that i stumbled upon. they're called malajube. after seeing this video clip, myself and marianyi have made it our goal to accomplish this going down the mag mile this summer. lemme know if you want in.
this is a band called vampire weekend. they are phenomenal. i can't say enough. their videos are perfect. the music is incredulously catchy. i would love to see these guys live sometime. completely worth it.
this is again vampire weekend but this video is great. and the song is too. i love the b section. you may not like it so much from the start, although i did. but no matter what, the b section makes it worth it.
unfortunately, i could not find a proper video for this next group. they are still quite underground. now, in no way shape or form do i back the zune before i back the iPod. let me just make that clear. so, having said that, this band, what made milwaukee famous, has a beautiful song that is worth every second of it. it is called hopelist. i apologize for the support of the zune brought to you by this ad.
alright. sink your teeth in and let me know.

SERIOUSLY...
this is not one of my usual posts. this post is simply to tell you if there is one album you buy in the near future, spend it in the right way. buy the weepies album "say i am you." i dare you to buy this album and not enjoy it. i can't say enough about every single track on this album. so don't waste your time. if you enjoy the posts i put up, then trust me on this. i don't think it's possible to not like this amazing album. it is currently my number one. not a single bad track on there.

food for thought...

i just posted a few hours ago, but i feel another post coming out so here it is. the post is simply an outlet for me....
it's been nearly 20 years now that i've been going around this world through the motions of my life. i've got a great family. i've got an amazing girlfriend that i don't know what i'd do without. i've got a good group of friends i know that i can depend on. i'm going to a great college with what promises to be a great profession God willing. a lot of people ask me questions and advice about what's going on in their lives. a lot of people think i seem like i've got most of life figured out. the truth is, i don't know jack. all i know is that i have no clue how to get from day to day. the only reason i can give anyone advice is because i've usually messed that up already to tell them how to make something better, etc. so if you ever think you just can't make it through another day, realize that even the people that seem like they have it all figured out have no clue what's going on. they fall and scrape their knees the same as anyone else. but, to put it in the words of rocky..."it's not about how hard you hit, it's about how many times you can take a hit and get back up."

making up for the absence.
so most of you know aqualung. he had that song, "brighter than sunshine." well, turns out he's actually talented beyond the one song. this is a great song of the same album called "easier to lie." ironically it's very honest. i love it.
beck is one of the most unique talents of our generation. also one of the most untapped mainstream talents. this song, "lost cause" has a very interesting video. the first time i watched it, it didn't make sense. the fifth time i watched it, i understood it. so, give it a chance. it's a direct relation to the lyrics and title of the song.
this next band is the go find. i wanted to post a video for their song "dictionary" but i couldn't find it. so, i am using a video for the song "new year." it's a great optimistic song with an interestingly contrasting melancholic musical quality to it. give it a listen. and try to check out the song "dictionary."
people press play. they are amazing. this song is ridic. i LOVE the lyrics. so true to life right now. turns out, life is becoming one big oxymoron. maybe it'll change in time. until then, i listen to people press play. song is called these days. video is beautifully mastered.
sometimes we need to slow down. i think this clip paints a beautiful portrait of life. what it should be like sometimes. what it shouldn't be like. it's very simple, but i love it. turns out i'm a simple guy. muhaha. enjoy. they're called youth group and the song is called "start today tomorrow."
how bout a little something on the mainstream gig? ok. here's a song by rihanna. yes, rihanna. i know what you're thinking...uhhh wtf? but, i can justify it. it's music stolen from michael jackson and madonna. which is why it's a good song. nonetheless, i thought it was worth the post. so without further adieu.....
alright...these guys are badass. they do great covers. their originals are alright, but the covers are where it's at. so i'll post 2 or 3 of these just for your enjoyment. definitely worth it. definitely.
how bout them apples? alright now for a carazzzay video. this is jinga if i ever saw it. EVER.
unfortunately i cannot embed it for some strange reason so i will give you the link...
